How do I get there?
Where do I park?
For Our Guests
We are located at 733 Euclid NW Washington DC in the Shaw district. Because of construction in several places we are going to suggest that you click the link below for specific directions from where you are. We can tell you that we are approximately 8 miles (16 minutes) from Arlington VA. We are approximately 10 miles (23 minutes) from Alexandria VA. We are approximately 5 miles (12 minutes) from Silver Spring Maryland and exactly 2.6 miles (7 minutes) from President and Mrs. Obama's house.

You can park right out in front of the building or in front of the high school directly across the street. We also have parking lot in the back. Which can be gained access from the alley way off of Georgia Street about 100 feet North of Euclid. There is plenty of parking in the front and back!

Can my kids come?
After you park you just go up the stairs of the Emergence Community Arts Center which is where our services are. You will see the sign for Awakening Light International pointing the way. Just go through the doors pass all of the beautiful African Artwork and up the stairs to where we are!
Are you kidding? OF COURSE! We love kids! Let's sing it. I believe the children are our future...ok just kidding about the singing part. YES children are welcome. And if you have a child that would like to do something they are welcome to. We have a piano a pianist, maybe they would like to read a poem or dance?
Bring the kids. We will soon start our children's church so maybe they can give us some ideas!
Will I have to speak?
Yes of course! We want to know who you are!
So we'll ask you your name, that's all. It's really painless. We'll ask you your name, you say your name, you're DONE! It's painless!
What can I expect?
You can expect to be empowered to be bring forth your greatness! Our gatherings are filled with music. But you will notice the words are different. No "slave" songs about climbing hard mountains, and trouble everywhere. Our music is steeped in the our tradition of soul but it is truly spirit and consciousness filled. So you will hear a mix of the old and new style of gospel, neo-soul, and even some traditional but it will all be for the purpose of elevating your mind. We have a time of meditation and stillness as well as conscious affirming prayer. We sometimes share and give testimony to the good that is expanding in our life and then we wrap it up with a powerful 45 minute Word of Truth and Empowerment from Rev. Israel. Oh you WILL be empowered!
Can I meet Rev. Israel?
Yes you certainly may! Rev. Israel makes it a point to meet everyone after the service and has been known to spend time with those who need to speak long after everyone else is gone. If you would like to speak personally to him after the service just come up and let him or his Assistant Minister (Quenton Stroud) know. Also you can send Rev. Israel an email ahead of time telling him you will be in service and would like to chat with him after. His personal email address is;

What if I want to become a member?
Are there any other classes during the week?
Good question. Our Lessons in Truth class will start weekly in November of 2009. This will be a teaching class to give you a deeper understanding of Awakenist New Thought Teachings. Also Pastor Israel has a weekly LIVE STREAMING teaching program call FREE YOUR MIND every Tuesday at 8:30 PM. As we continue to grow we will continue to add new classes that will empower you with the truth to enhance your spiritual walk and lead you into a life of victory. We are a teaching ministry and in the beginning we can't stress enough how important it is to COME TO CHURCH!
Not for us but for you! Come to soak up everything Pastor Israel teaches! You will see your life start to change no long after you sit in this environment for awhile.
We offer membership every 1st Sunday of the month. We invite you to visit us several Sundays before making that decision. On that Sunday Pastor Israel will simply ask and all you have to do is simply accept. For those living out of state or who are not local, we invite them to be a part by joining Awakening Light International Center of Truth (Online) which they can do right here on this web site.
We have many people around the country who desire to experience this level of spirituality and yet fill there is no place in their vicinity that suffices. We created A.L.I. Online to meet such a need. With technology being what it is, you can get all of the lessons watch Rev. Israel teaching online and have a place where you can practice the law of giving through the vehicle of tithing so that you too can experience the blessings of Divine Mind. So wherever you are if you like to become a member you are welcome.
